Corazon Velasco Pascua's Obituary
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Corazon Velasco Pascua, age 98, on June 30, 2023. She passed away peacefully at her home in San Francisco with her family present.
Corazon was born on August 13, 1924 in the Philippines. She attended school at Far Eastern University and achieved a bachelors degree in Education. Through mutual friends she met her future spouse Valentin Pascua, and on December 10, 1961 they married.
In 1967, they along with their two children immigrated to the United States settling in San Francisco. It was a challenging move, but through her persistence, Corazon found employment at Union Bank. She remained there for 15 years before returning to civil service for MEPCOM (a division of the United States Army). She continued at MEPCOM until her retirement in 1990.
Although retired, Corazon remained active. Her favorite interests were, tending to her garden (roses were a favorite), caring for her infant grandchildren, and volunteering at the Bernal Heights Senior Center. At the senior center she was often recognized for her dedication and service.
She was a kind, caring, and giving person and someone that will be missed.
Corazon is survived by her son Noel Pascua, daughter and spouse Carol/Jackson Saekow, grandchildren Jesse/Sydney Saekow, and sister Rosalina Ilano.
