Claire Lucie Dessaux's Obituary
Claire Lucie Dessaux passed away peacefully on September 8th 2018 with her loving partner Christian Schalk at her side, after battling a serious health issue for many years.Claire leaves behind her only sister, Marie, along with her niece and nephew, Isaure and Alex, who reside in Claire’s home country of France.Claire also leaves behind her heartbroken US family, including Christian’s mother Maria, brothers Frank and Rudy and his family Vidya, Adrian and Julian.Claire was born in France in 1966 to parents Robert and Brigitte Dessaux and grew up in both Paris and Orleans. Claire graduated with honors from the University of Toulouse with a Master’s of Science in Chemical Engineering.Claire was a highly respected technology professional having held leadership positions in product management, marketing and analyst relations at prestigious silicon valley companies including Oracle and most recently at Gartner Inc, where she served as a managing vice president. She was widely revered as a smart, competent and extremely hard worker, and has earned the admiration of a multitude of professional peers around the world.Outside of her career, Claire’s other passions included sports, travel and family.Before Claire’s affliction slowed her down, she loved swimming, hiking, kayaking, tennis, skiing and running, and of course excelled at all of these! Her partner Chris can humbly attest to this.In recent times, Claire was able to purchase a home in Hawaii, and her last great passion was to stroll Kailua Beach taking selfies and sharing them with friends and family around the world.It is with a collective heavy heart and profound sadness that we have to say goodbye to our beautiful, generous and kind Claire way too soon.We will always love you forever Claire, you touched so many lives and truly made the world a better place!
