Dear Helena and family: I’m very blessed to know Bruce at the last stage of his life. Each time when I visited him I felt his love for God and people around him so strongly. He is truly a man of faith. Bruce also shared with me his past in Taiwan which let me feel more connected to him that way. He is also a fighter, mentor, care giver, intercessor and loving friend. Bruce has run the course and fought a good fight. What’s lied ahead of him is the crown of life in heaven. The separation between him and us is only temporal but the reunion with him is eternal. Dear Helena and children I met Bruce in a nursing school. He took care of the people around him and made sure that he inspired and encouraged us all through the nursing program. He always found a solution to the problem and giving new ideas to make our study easier. When he was first diagnosed with cancer, he fight the battle and he never showed how sick he was. He was proud when his cancer was in remission. Bruce was a great husband and father. May care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead. Dear Helena, I first met Bruce and you at the Southwest YMCA cancer patient health program! We became exercise buddy and spiritual friend! We went hiking and prayed for each other! Bruce was a wonderful caring brother to me and he will be missed! Your dedication and love is truly a blessing to Bruce, family and friends! Dear Helena and the Lin Family, Please accept my heartfelt condolence on the loss of Bruce. I only knew Bruce as his hospice chaplain during the last two months of his life here on earth. Bruce had faith in God even though he knew he was dying. He trusted God whether he had a good or bad day. We read his favorite Psalms (23 & 121) and prayed during my visits. Bruce didn’t say much because he was too sick. I imagined he suffered and experienced sadness just like a normal human being would in his circumstances, but there was a quiet strength and dignity in Bruce. He trusted that “the Lord is my Shepherd” and affirmed that “surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life”, with the hope that “I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” May the wonderful memories of Bruce bless and comfort you.
