Mr. Chien (Ken) Kuei Tseng's Obituary
Chien Tseng (90) of El Cerrito, California, passed away on May 2, 2024. Chien, also known as Ken, was born to A-Chang and Chiao-Mei Tseng in Taiwan in 1934. He came to the United States to obtain a PhD in chemistry and had a long successful career as an analytical chemist. During his college years, he met and married his beloved wife Ying and raised two sons, Steve and Peter. Chien was a devoted family man who always made sure his wife was taken care of and his sons had what they needed to get through college and start their own careers. He constantly provided love, encouragement, and guidance while prioritizing time with his family. He endured family road trips, both short and long, to countless national parks and amusement parks, taught his entire family how to golf, and watched sporting events with his sons.
Chien’s life was rich with hobbies and activities. He enjoyed growing and breeding orchids, traveling to foreign countries, listening to classical music and opera, watching Japanese samurai movies, drinking wine, playing golf and spending time at his country club, and completing the most difficult sudoku puzzles he could find.
His memory will be forever held in the hearts of his surviving family: his wife Ying; his two sons, Steve and Peter; his three grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan, and Jacey; and his siblings, Chung Yang, Chun Liu, Ching Yun, Chin Chu, Yueh Fu, and Chin Lien.
