Cheryle Lynn Eymil's Obituary
Cheryle Lynn Eymil, 82, passed away peacefully at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on May 12, 2026. She was born at Stanford Hospital on March 22, 1944, to Lawrence Walter and Doris Lorraine Tompsett of Menlo Park, California.
Cheryle was survived by her two daughters, Colleen Eymil of Anacortes, Washington, and Charleen Cohen of San Jose, California; her twin grandchildren, Logan and Taylor Cohen; and her brother, Gerald E. Tompsett of Oak Harbor, Washington.
Cheryle cherished her circle of friends who were a vital part of her life. She was passionate about gardening, often spending her days cultivating vibrant flower beds. Additionally, Cheryle enjoyed, with her late husband Leon Luis Eymil, going to Stanford football games and attending after-game dinner parties with their group of friends. Leon and she enjoyed traveling throughout the world after retirement.
Cheryle dedicated her life to her Christian faith and attended Palo Alto's Peninsula Bible Church for over 50 years.
Cheryle dedicated over two decades to the Palo Alto Unified School District after studying Fine Art At San Jose State University. She advanced from being a librarian to becoming the budget secretary. Her commitment to education was paralleled by her support for her husband Leon Luis Eymil's teaching career at Palo Alto High School. Together, they contributed significantly to their community's academic environment.
Cheryle's funeral service was held at Skylawn Memorial Park, San Mateo, California, by family members and her close friends on Monday, June 8, 2026. She was laid to rest with her husband of 44 years, Leon Luis Eymil.
