CHE CHIU YEE's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Che-Chiu Yee on June 19, 2026 due to surgery complications at the age of 75. He was born on July 28, 1950 in Hong Kong as the second eldest of 7 children where he was always highly regarded for his leadership, intelligence, and kindness. He immigrated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1977 to provide a new life for his entire extended family. An electrical engineer by trade, he worked in various large companies such as Phillips, Siemens, AMD and eventually started his own company USafe Tek (Hong Kong) Company Limited to research lighting driven by LED batteries. However, his ultimate passion in life was sharing his Christian faith and served generously at First Chinese Baptist Church, San Francisco, in virtually every aspect of worship service and multiple church ministries. He always adhered to Biblical truth, sought God's guidance in all things, cherished the sincere relationships he built with others, and continued to participate in outreach ministry for over thirty years.
Che-Chiu was always a stable caretaker for his loved ones and maintained a stoic and calm demeanor throughout it all. He raised his children with a God-centered foundation and worked hard to provide financially for all of his children’s college education. He enjoyed spending his spare time playing Chinese chess, exercising Tai-Chi on the weekends, cooking homemade dishes with his wife, and celebrating family get-togethers.
Che-Chiu was a quiet and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and spiritual leader to so many people who have looked up to him as a pillar of strength. He is survived by his wife Pat, his children, Joanne (Jonathan Wong), Isaac, Samuel (Joanne Ngo), Eric, and precious granddaughter Isabelle. God has blessed Che-Chiu abundantly throughout his life and leaves behind a legacy of loving God with steadfast devotion, humility, and cheerful kindness. He will be greatly and deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the Crystal Springs Chapel at Skylawn Funeral Home (Hwy 92 at Skyline, San Mateo, CA)
