Charlie Brown's Obituary
Charles 'Charlie' Michael Brown, 61, passed away unexpectedly on December 5, 2011 at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, CA near his home in Woodside CA. He attended De LaSalle High School and Rockhurst University in Kansas City studying accounting and the disciplines of literature and philosophy, receiving a BSBA in 1973. He periodically nurtured his ideals with sabbaticals in the Sierra Mountains and the San Juan Islands. He learned thriftiness and discipline from his banker father, accountability from his paper route, rising and ready by 3 am before school. This prepared him to be successfully involved with the communications, Internet and wireless industries as an innovator, developing and implementing new communications services for over 25 years. He served as a principal in three cutting edge start-ups; the last venture, Flying Circuit Inc.; a company organized to promote and implement the development of user-owned communications infrastructure, primarily via wireless technologies. Charlie is survived by the loves in his life; wife Claudia, twin sons Alexander and Lucas of the home, his daughters Kimberly of Kansas City and Kyla of Springfield, Missouri and son Karl also of Springfield, five wonderful grandchildren, brothers Terry, Patrick and Dennis all of Kansas City and sister Debbie of Longmont, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Ninalee, and his brother Timothy. Charlie loved his life, family and friends. He was a remarkable person with a contagious intellectual humor who with his infectious laugh brought cheer wherever he went. To his life long friends, Charlie the kid was the same guy in 2011 that he was in Kindergarten at Visitation School. We laughed and played and were able to talk about anything without judgment. He was a true friend and a blessing to his friends and his family. He will be dearly missed and always with us in our hearts and spirit. A Memorial Celebration of Charlie's life will take place at the Muehlebach Funeral Home in Kansas City, MO on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 3pm. There will follow immediately a reception at Kelly's Westport Inn. A second 'Celebration' of Charlie's life will take place on January 21, 2012 at Skylawn Memorial Park, in the San Francisco Bay Area at 12pm.
