Charles Sakamoto, age 92, passed peacefully on October 13th, 2025 at his home in San Mateo, CA. The family shares this brief notice in respect for privacy.
He was born on July 22nd, 1933 in Hanford, CA. He later made San Mateo his long-time home.
Charles attended the College of San Mateo for two years. He served in the United States Army from May 11th, 1956 to April 3rd, 1958, holding the rank of Private.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and detailing cars. Friends knew him as resilient, organized, and hardworking.
He is survived by his spouse, Shizuka Sakamoto, and daughters, Cindy Gomes and Sherri Herman. They thank those who have reached out.
A private service will be held at a later date. The family requests quiet remembrance.
