Catherine Norma Bohard's Obituary
We lost our beloved Mother, Catherine Norma Bohard, on June 16, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Bohard in 1986 and survived by sons Ron (Sheila), Ken and Russ, grandsons Zach (Heidi) and Nate, great grandchildren Carsten and Isabelle, siblings Dorothy Thomas, Marge Griffith and Erle Cook, and many devoted nieces and nephews. She was a native born San Franciscan and graduated from Balboa High School in 1945. Catherine and Harold were married in 1947 and moved to Pacifica before moving to the Millbrae Meadows in 1955 where they resided for over 30 years. She later moved to Redwood City and enjoyed gardening and volunteering at the Senior gift center. She was a member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West and a volunteer for CHP as well. Catherine performed with the Sweet Adelines choral group in many statewide competitions.Catherine was employed as the office manager for Duracell Battery Mallory Division for over 12 years. She was an avid SF Giants fan throughout her years and even attended their spring training in Arizona. She loved to travel and took numerous trips with her sister Dorothy to Tennessee, Oregon, Mexico, Yosemite, Tahoe and the Redwoods and with sons and grandsons to Mexico. She always had a project going: sewing, crocheting, making holiday decorations, baking cookies (best ever snickerdoodles) and bread, and canning seasonal produce. To keep physically and mentally fit there were tap lessons and playing the piano.Mom enjoyed a very full life, devoted to family, generous with her time and talents, and welcoming to all. Those of us who knew and loved her are honored to have had her in our lives. May we all honor her by living life as she did. Mom, we will miss you forever. No formal services will be held.
