Carol Joyce Stenholm's Obituary
Carol Stenholm, a resident of Redwood City, died at home on November 8, 2013, following a courageous year of battling pancreatic cancer.Stenholm was born in Oahu, Hawaii, on April 20, 1948, and raised in San Carlos, CA since age five. She attended local schools in San Carlos and Belmont, including Laureola Elementary School, Central Middle School, Carlmont High School, and Don’s Beauty School in San Mateo, where she received her cosmetology license. She was an accomplished hair stylist for 45 years, employed at Hair Hunters, former owner of Carol’s Sheer Impressions and former co-owner of Bella Hair Design.Carol is survived by her spouse, David; daughter, Farah Simoni (Shamus); two dearly-beloved grandchildren, Jameson (6) and Skye (3); sister, Verna Salsedo-Pacheco (Cesar); mother and father- in-law, Doris and Carl Stenholm; sister-in-law, Janet Nunez (Jose); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martha and David Rodrigues, brother, David, and sister, Gwendolyn.Viewing will take place on Monday, November 18, 2:00-4:30 p.m., at Skylawn Funeral Home, Highway 92 and Skyline Blvd., San Mateo, in the Santa Cruz/Woodside Room.A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2:00 p.m., at Skylawn Funeral Home in the Pacific Chapel. Following the service and burial, there will be a reception in the Vista Room at Skylawn.The family is requesting no flowers, please. Donations would be appeciated by the family.
