Carlos Ortega's Obituary
On Tuesday, January 2nd, 2020 Carlos Ortega passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family, following a series of health complications.
Carlos was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Alvina Ortega and their children Alex and Carissa; his ex wife Lidia Ortega and daughter Karla; his eldest son Carlos Ortega and his granddaughter Olivia Lopez, in addition to many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Born in San Francisco on July 20th, 1950, Carlos grew up with his Mother Angela Cordero, sister Janet DeMartini and brothers James Marshall and John Slaviero.
Carlos loved and cared for his family. He was a devoted father, brother and friend. Carlos had a funny and loving personality, great sense of humor and kind heart. He was a simple man who enjoyed the simplicity of life. He was an avid health enthusiast who supported local team: 49 Niners and greatly enjoyed watching boxing and wrestling. His passion was bodybuilding, practicing Qigong and reading about Native American history. In addition, he had a vast knowledge on marvel comics.
Carlos attended Mission High School. He worked as a Postman for 19 years for the US Postal Service. He had 2 certifications as typewriter repairman and sheetrocking. Carlos was greatly loved and will be dearly missed and remembered most for being a devoted father with a fun loving sense of humor . A celebration of life service will be held on January 8th, 2020, service at 10am, followed by the burial at 12:00pm. Flowers or donations may be sent to Skylawn Memorial Park on Hwy. 92 at Skyline Blvd, San Mateo.
