Cameron Kaelyn Yee's Obituary
In Loving Memory of
Cameron Kaelyn Yee
September 12, 1998 - January 6, 2021
Cameron passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family at the age of 22 on January 6, 2021 after a courageous 5 year battle with Alevolar Rhabdomyosarcoma.
Cameron was born to her loving parents, Rima and David Yee, on September 12, 1998 in San Francisco. She attended Cornerstone Elementary School, El Camino High School, and Dominican University of California. She recently graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing in May 2020. Inspired by the wonderful and compassionate team of nurses that took care of her through her journey, Cameron’s aspiration was to become a pediatric oncology nurse herself.
She was also passionate about giving back to Little Wishes, an organization founded to grant wishes to chronically ill children. Through this affiliation, Cameron used her creativity and artistic talent to design a special ribbon titled “Nobody Fights Alone.” Cameron’s artistic and creative spirit also lives on at California Pacific Medical Center’s rock garden, which she helped bring to fruition with her hand painted rocks, delivering messages of kindness, inspiration and happiness.
Cameron’s charismatic and outgoing nature to extend love and joy to others was limitless. Her brilliant smile and presence would brighten anyone’s day. She cherished spending time with her beloved family, her boyfriend, her dog and her many lifelong friends. She loved traveling and enjoyed exploring new adventures. She always maintained positivity in life despite enduring cancer. She will be remembered as an intelligent, courageous, kind, and compassionate young woman that many will look up to for inspiration. She leaves behind her legacy of accomplishments and unique attributes that will continue to thrive and flourish in the people she loved and touched throughout her lifetime.
Cameron is survived by her parents, Rima and David Yee, and her younger brother, Austin. She is also survived by her maternal grandparents, Nancy and Ming Wong; her paternal grandparents, Roberta and Larry Yee; her paternal great-grandmother, Violet Fong; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She also leaves behind her boyfriend, Brandon Tam, her dog, Luna, and a large circle of friends.
Memorial services are coordinated at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo. The private service for Cameron will be held on Monday, January 25th. In lieu of bereavement gifts, the family would welcome donations in Cameron's name to:
