Jan became my mom Ethel Larson’s best friend. They knew each other the minute Jan moved in across the driveway. Mom first lived in the apartment behind Jan’s, then later moved in with Betty Crum her oldest daughter. Jan would either call or come over each day and bring things to eat or just sit around and talk. I will never forget how wonderful and kind she was. Jan later became my best friend in 1992 after my only son past away from a tragic horse accident at the age of 13. Jan talked me through the grief process. After my mom died a few years ago, Jan and I became even closer. We would go online and she would tell me what furniture she wanted to buy. We would take an inventory and see what would work with her decor. We really did like to shop. Grandchildren was something she really knew inside and out. She really was proud and happy when they would call and want to come visit. Gardening and rescuing animals especially cats were her specialty. Yes, Christmas was special to Jan. We always sent each other beautiful cards. I never knew when her birthday was, but she knew mine and would send me cards as if I was her daughter. I will always remember and love her. May she feel the presence of God and not hurt anymore. Joyce & Jim Robins
