Betty Chao's Obituary
Betty was born on September 26, 1954 in Taichung, Taiwan. She completed her education from primary school to college in the Province of Taichung. Betty married Sam at the age of twenty. At the age of twenty-two, Betty came to the United States to reunite with her husband who had arrived a year earlier. At the age of twenty-six, Betty gave birth to her first daughter, Monique. Two years later, Betty gave birth to her second daughter, Michelle. Betty has been a devoted wife and loving mother. Her two daughters are both well rounded individuals with promising careers.Betty came from humble beginnings. Her father was a middle-ranking officer in the military who was dismissed from service while Betty was in her teens. In order to support her family, Betty joined the workforce at the age of seventeen. She faced tremendous pressure from her family which made her question love and the meaning of family. Despite her upbringing, Betty’s heart longed for warmth and unconditional love.Praise to God, Betty was invited to attend a gathering at Agape Vineyard Christian Church one day where an old pastor prayed for her, and she felt the warmth and love of the Holy Spirit. Betty’s faith in God continued to grow as a member of Christ at Zion Church of Praise. At the River of Life Christian Church, Betty felt the power of prayer and worship through hymns. When Betty and Sam moved to San Jose, she began attending CCIC.When Betty was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer, she was overwhelmed by the companionship, prayers and support she received from her brothers and sisters in Christ. Aside from the physical pains of cancer, Betty confessed that her final days were some of her happiest. Because of Betty’s strong faith, she did not fear death. Betty left this world full of gratitude and assurance of her place in the Kingdom of Heaven.
