Bettie Jane Heimsoth's Obituary
Bettie Jane Heimsoth died at 12:25 AM at Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame on Nov. 22, 2012 at age 91. She was born on July 22, 1921 in Denison, Texas to Martha Kilmer Jones and Edwin Dale Jones. She is survived by her loving daughter, Michele Heimsoth Eichelberg of Cary, NC; her son-in-law William Eichelberg of Cary, NC; and her grandson Alexander Guy O’Neill Witherow of Vienna, VA.At age 20, she moved to San Francisco from Texas and worked as a secretary in the Russ Building for the Guy F. Atkinson Co. There, she met her husband of 64 years, Guy Herring Heimsoth. They married April 19, 1947.Throughout her life, she was an active volunteer of the Park School PTA and the San Mateo High School PTA. She also volunteered for Pals for Palsy. She was a graduate of Denison High School and attended North Texas State University in Denton, TX for 2 years. Bettie was an avid bridge player her entire life and was a member of several bridge clubs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Herring Heimsoth, step son Robert Glenn Heimsoth, and brother Richard Dale Jones.Bettie spent the last 10 months of her life at Sterling Court Senior Living in San Mateo. She was lovingly cared for by her caregiver Sabina Alban and Sarah St. James, Executive Director. A graveside service will be conducted at Skylawn Memorial Park on November 29, 2012 at 1 PM.
