Just before Sunrise on Wednesday September 7, 2022 Bessie Olga Love (Burrows) went to the heavenly sky. She was 99 years old.
She was born in Mountain View CA to Thomas James Burrows & Esther Elizabeth Burrows (Devenish). She graduated from Mountain View High School on June 19 1941. She went on to be a nursing assistant at Hoover Pavilion at Stanford Hospital.
She met Lucille Johnson while there and was introduced to her brother Neal Love. Neal was in the navy and she fell in love with his “shiny shoes”.
They were married the next year on November 24, 1946. They had 3 children Mike, Susan & Kathy. They all lived in the family home where Bessie still resided until she passed away.
Bessie was a room mother at the school, Boy Scout leader, Girl Scout leader, volunteered to collect money for the March of Dimes, also volunteered for the Cancer Society & Samaritan House. She met her good friend Nancy Torres, who is in charge of a Very Special toy box. These gifts go to children after they have a chemo or radiation treatment.
Bessie is predeceased by her parents, two sisters, one brother and the love of her life Neal whom she was married to for almost 65 years.
Bessie is survived by her three children Michael Love (Beverley), Susan Dougan, Kathy Love (Arthur). Seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter.
Service will be held on Saturday September 17 @ 1:00 p.m. at Skylawn Memorial Park , Highway 92 and Skyline Blvd. San Mateo .
