Bertha Jean Morris' Obituary
Bertha Jean Morris, a resident of San Jose, California, passed away July 14, 2019 due to complications with Alzheimers. She was a champion fighter with this horrible disease. Born on March 8,1945 to Dorthy and Birten Hasty in Temple, Texas, her father died when she was only 2 yrs old. At age 8, her mother moved her and siblings to California where she would later meet husband George Morris, be married, and have 4 children. George & Jean loved each other unconditionally for 58 yrs until he died in June of 2018. Jean was a loyal wife and dedicated mother who enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts and entertaining friends. She was witty and had a good sense of humor. She was a great woman of Faith… Her saying was “If you’re gonna pray, don”t worry and if you’re gonna worry don’t pray.” She trusted her Lord and Savior to her last day. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and served on the Usher Board for over 20 yrs. She worked in the Semiconductor field for over 35 years, working her way up from Assembly Operator to an Engineer in research and develop. She was a hard working woman who never seem to stop until she retired in 2008 with Western Digital in Fremont, Ca..Her generosity towards others will be missed.. Lord, thank you for keeping her through all her trials and tribulations here on earth. We know she is at peace now with You!Jean has a surviving mother-in-law Ora Bell Cleaves; children Jane aka Janah Dillard, Eric Morris Sr. and Chrystalle Morris (daughter-in-law) and 2 deceased children, Sylvia Jones and Adrian Morris. She has 11 grandchildren Dwayne Barkley Jr. (deceased), Eric Morris Jr., Isaiah Morris, Aarika Morris, Rebecca Morris, Kile Morris, Kevin Jones Jr., Kaneisha Jones, Taneisha Jones, Israel Dillard, Josiah Dillard and 7 great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings are Alma Jean Blackman, Sidni Moore, Jonnie Johnson, and a deceased sister Joyce Brown. Other surviving relatives are Thelma Walton (sister-in-law), Joseph cleaves (brother-in-law) Larry Morris (brother-in-law) and cousins, nephews, nieces, and many friends who loved her dearly.
