Beatrice (Bea) Shula McMearn's Obituary
Bea McMearn passed away on November 14, 2017, at the age of 76.Bea was born in the state of Washington on February 08, 1941. She is survived by her older brother John Patterson and his wife Norma of Seattle, Washington. Her parents, and younger brother Don, preceded her in death.She married Alex McMearn Jr in 1960, and they moved to Hayward, California to raise their family. She began her career at St. Rose Hospital in 1964, and earned her Nursing degree from Chabot College in 1980. She then worked as a registered nurse at St. Rose Hospital for 29 years, until her retirement in 2009, completing 45 years of service to the Hayward community. She was a nurturing, caring and selfless woman who often made personal sacrifices to ensure the well-being of others. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend.She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex, in 2004. She is the Mother of Renee Johnson, Michele Robinson, Monique Torres and honorary daughter Lisa Arellano; mother-in-law to Darryll Johnson, Richard Robinson, Chuck Torres, and Rich Arellano; grandmother (Nana) to Jessica Nawahine, Adam and Brian Robinson, Charley and Marlowe Torres, Megan and Matthew Jimenez and Brenden Arellano; great-grandmother to Janessa Coleman; she is aunt to many nieces and nephews.She is deeply loved and will be forever missed.Services will be held at Skylawn Memorial Park, Highway 92 at Skyline Boulevard, San Mateo, CA 94402 on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.Charitable donations may be submitted in her name to the St. Rose Hospital Foundation.
