Barbara Ann Thompson (nee Burke)
November 7, 1928 – October 26, 2025
Barbara Ann Thompson (nee Burke) was born in San Francisco to Virginia and Gerald Burke. Barbara graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with the Class of 1950 where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She met her husband Richard (“Dick”) Thompson, Jr. (UCB Class of 1949) while an undergraduate. They were married in 1950 and blessed with six children: Michael, Donna, Paula, Joseph, Camille and Nannette. They were also blessed with 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband and two of her children, Joe and Paula. The family resided in Westlake (Daly City) for 15 years before moving to San Mateo where Barbara and Dick lived for nearly 50 years.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Bartholomew Church at the corner of Alameda and Crystal Springs Road in San Mateo on Monday, November 24, 2025 at 10:00 a.m.
