Barbara Madick's Obituary
Barbara A. Madick 1931 – 2015 Barbara Ann (Maly) Madick, longtime resident of Redwood City, died Saturday, March 28, 2015 of heart failure. Barbara was born in Minneapolis on July 8, 1931, she was the second child of Dr. Henry W. and Ethyl R. Maly. She was raised in Colorado Springs and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. She attended the University of Colorado and received a nursing degree and teaching certificate from St. Mary’s College. Leavenworth, KS. Barbara was a member of Sisters of Charity, Leavenworth, from 1952 to 1971. She then relocated to San Mateo and attended the College of San Mateo, received a teaching degree and taught at the college for many years. Barbara married C. Stephen Madick in 1976 and they resided in Redwood City. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Stephen and her sister Paticia M. Marshburn. She is survived by her sister Joan M. Bovard of Dallas, brother Richard W. Maly of Sacramento, four nephews, one niece, five grand-nephews and three grand nieces.Services will be held a Skylawn Funeral Home in San Mateo on Monday, April 6th at 2:00pm, followed by the burial at Skylawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to a charity of their choice.
