AVERA, Axel Benjamin, born June 1, 2014, son of Thomas Avera and Emilie Avera (née Strady), passed away on the morning of September 1, 2016 at the age of two. Axel is survived by Thomas and Emilie (parents), Barthélémy and Ellen Strady (maternal grandparents), John and Mary Ann Avera (paternal grandparents), Barthélémy and Shriti Strady (maternal uncle and aunt), Lucie Strady (cousin), and Naomasa and Erin Otsubo (paternal uncle and aunt).Axel’s favorite pastimes included: Hiking with Maman (Emilie) up Montara Mountain. Eating gourmet meals prepared by Dadu (Thomas). Going to the park with Grandma. Playing “monster walk” with Papa. Exploring Guerneville with Marmie and Papinou. Teaching his Auntie and Uncle that all colors should be called “yellow.” Playing with his friends at Coastside Child Development Center. Learning new words in French and English. And many other happy adventures.Words cannot express the deep loss and heartbreak felt by the passing of our sweet, smart, funny, and affectionate little boy. He will be forever in our hearts and has changed our lives in the most wonderful ways.A memorial will be held on September 24, 2016 at Skylawn Mortuary, San Mateo, at 10:00 am.
