Between 1996 and 2001, I stayed in the shadows for many of you. Arsalan and I were each other’s anchor during that time. I’m proud that I insisted he move toward a settled, domestic life. After I left, Irina became his stable partner, and I take pride in the life he went on to build.

I was deeply saddened to learn about Arsalan’s passing. Arsalan was not only my manager but also one of the greatest mentors I’ve had in my career. He guided me through complex challenges with patience and wisdom, and taught me the importance of building genuine human relationships and trusting the process to see meaningful outcomes.
I feel deeply grateful and fortunate to have worked with him. His thoughtful advice, calm strength, and kindness have left a lasting mark on me. Even after I was impacted by the layoffs, he continued to support and encourage me, something I will always remember with gratitude.
Thank you, Arsalan, for your mentorship, compassion, and the wisdom you shared so generously.
I only had the privilege of working with him for a few weeks at Google, yet he became the greatest mentor of my career. He consistently shielded, guided, and supported me, a commitment that continued even after I moved off his team, lasting until the day he was no longer able. I always wished I had reached out to share my deep gratitude for his unique blend of skill and kindness.
