Annie Sen Lee's Obituary
Our beloved mother, Annie Sen Lee died at the age of 93 in San Mateo, California on May 20, 2017 from a cerebral hemorrhage. Annie was born on January 10, 1924 on Twitchell Island, California. Her parents, Kwong Ah Sen and Chan Shee Sen had eight children while living in Locke, California. The second born, Annie went to school in Isleton. Raised in a farming community, she cared for her siblings as well as working in the canneries sorting pears, asparagus, and tomatoes. She married Thomas Lee in 1946 and settled in San Mateo with their two daughters, Cherie Ann and Janie. While raising a family she also worked in the family laundry business in Burlingame and later in the family grocery store in San Francisco. For relaxation she loved needlework and reading. In 1960 Annie was baptized and attended Community Baptist Church in San Mateo. In the last few years her favorite outing was to eat at restaurants with her daughters and son-in-law Craig Lee. Blessed with a sense of humor, she delighted in caring for her grandchildren, Joshua and Jennifer Ho, and Benjamin and Teddy Lee. She also has four great-grandchildren, Meagan and Toby Lee, and Tyler and Wyatt Stripling.Annie is survived by her sisters, Alice Chow, Margaret Tom, Violet Chan and Earlene Sen, and by her brother, Harry Sen. She leaves many nieces and nephews as well as grandnieces and nephews. Loved by all for her nurturing and kind spirit, she showed remarkable patience, resilience and understanding but most of all, unconditional love. We will miss her deeply, but celebrate her full life surrounded by family. We are comforted to know the Lord is her redeemer and she is in her heavenly home with her Creator.Funeral services will be held at Skylawn Funeral Home, Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 11:00.
