Ann Scholtz Alexander's Obituary
Ann Alexander, aged 87, of Palo Alto, California died at Palo Alto Commons on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, due to metastatic melanoma.
She was born September 10, 1936, in Frenchtown, New Jersey, to Miro Scholtz and Olga Polaznick. She had one brother, Fredrik Scholtz, and one sister, Virginia Scholtz. She lived in New Jersey her whole life and enjoyed vacationing in Vermont until moving to California in 2016. She attended college and became an elementary school teacher. On August 11, 1979, she married Thomas Alexander, to whom Ann was a devoted and loving wife for 44 years.
Ann was an avid reader who enjoyed 100+ books per year. She especially liked mystery novels. She was meticulously organized and had to have everything “just so”. She loved Teddy bears and amassed quite a collection over the years. She enjoyed sports and was a fan of the Yankees and the Warriors.
She is predeceased by her parents, Miro Scholtz and Olga Polaznick, and her brother-in-law, Lyman S. Faulkner, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Alexander, of Palo Alto, California, sister-in-law, Mary Alexander, of Atherton, California, niece, Michelle Loftis, and nephew, Thomas Green, of
Menlo Park, California, grandnephew, Ian Loftis of Los Angeles, California, and grand nieces, Lily Loftis of Menlo Park, California, Jasmine Green of Laie, Hawaii, and Jessica-Sarah Green of Palm Coast, Florida.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 17 at 9:00 am at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo, California.
