Angelina Vivian Luca's Obituary
Angelina Luca, 95, of San Jose passed away peacefully on March 26, 2015. Angelina was born in Fresno, California on December 17, 1919. She grew up with her parents Carlotta and Giovanni, her twin sister Maryann, her sister Ida, and brother Mario on a ranch in Fresno. She graduated from Central High School and during WW ll was a “Rosie the Riveter” building B-17’s and doing her part to support the troops. She met her husband Rudy at a USO dance. At the time he was a gunner on B-17’s flying missions over Germany. They married in 1945 and resided in San Francisco and Redwood City. Angelina was a devoted mother, grandmother (Nonni) and great grandmother. She loved her family dearly. She was an outstanding cook and you could always count on pasta for a Sunday family dinner. She and Rudy traveled extensively in the US and visited Europe and cousins in Lucca, Italy many times. Her husband, sisters, and brother predeceased her. She is survived by her sons, Robert and Dennis, daughter-in- law Diane and grandchildren Amy, Laurie Michael, David, Kathleen, Dominic and her great grand children Avery and Ashlyn. The entire family will miss her smile, sense of humor, her devotion to family and her love. A Catholic service will take place at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo on Saturday April 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Donations may be made in the memory of Angelina to the Guide Dogs for the Blind, San Rafael.
