Angel Gallegos Acosta's Obituary
Angel Acosta, age 80, long time resident of Redwood City, California died peacefully on Wednesday, October 21, 2009. Born May 15, 1929 in Mexico City to Rosa and Angel Acosta and married to Naty Hernandez Acosta on December 1, 1962 in Palo Alto California.Angel was a long time resident of Redwood City, California and attended the Politécnico of Mexico City where he majored in Journalism. He worked for a variety of local companies including: Ampex, Varian, SRI and was a foreign correspondent for Televisa. He was also a Community Activist and was instrumental in raising funds for a statue dedicated to Sra. Soledad Arguello which can still be visited in downtown Redwood City. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor. His hobbies included: carpentry, playing billiards, riding his bike around Redwood City, playing with his dogs, trying new wines and traveling. He also enjoyed cooking and was a member of Los Ãguilas Soccer team of Redwood City. Angel is survived by his wife of 47 years Naty Acosta of Redwood City, daughter Rosana Acosta, daughter Xochitl Acosta Brent and son-in-law Daniel Brent, son Michael Acosta and daughter-in-law Evelia Cruz, son Jose Federico Acosta and daughter-in-law Olivia, grandchildren Christopher Daniel Acosta, Marisa Gomez, Jessica Nicole Acosta, Enrique Angelo Gomez, Michael Acosta and Jonathan Joel Acosta and a great-granddaughter who will be born in December 2009.Services will be held Tuesday, October 27th at the Lifemark Center. A public viewing from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. will be held at the Crystal Springs chapel with a rosary service at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 28th in the Crystal Springs chapel at Skylawn Memorial Park with a public reception held in Redwood City at the Waterfront Restaurant.
