Amy Hsu's Obituary
Amy Hsu 許靜慈, aged 71, passed away peacefully on March 17th, 2021 at 1:05am in Pleasanton, California.
She was born June 15th, 1949 in Chang Hua, Taiwan to Fu-Chi Hsu and Pei-Ying Yuan. She attended Soochow University, majoring in Political Science. She spent 30+ years of her professional life in accounting.
Amy was full of love, life, and infectious laughter who lived by the mantra “don’t worry, be happy”. Her days were filled with dancing and travels, and her adventures took her to all corners of the world. She was a devoted mother, sister, and friend and was always willing to share whatever she had or help however she could. Her petite size and positive energy earned her endearing nicknames 小A and 小不點. After living in Los Angeles for 23 years, and almost 20 years in Fremont, she happily spent her last few years at Stoneridge Retirement Community where she was known by her friends as “Dancing Amy”, participating in various clubs and activities including the Mandarin Club, Zumba, Line Dance, Ballroom Dance, and flower arrangement. There was not a day that went by where she was not living life to the absolute fullest.
She is survived by her daughter Sonya Cheng and son-in-law Trent Taft who is expecting a baby girl in April, sister Wen-Ching Hsu, brothers Jack Hsu and wife Jean Hsu, Jimmy Hsu, Ben Hsu and wife Charlene Hong, nephews Jerry Hsu and wife Stephanie Wong, David Hsu and wife Jennifer Hsu, and Kevin Hsu.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
