Alma L. Angus Cocconi March 10, 1917 – June 11, 2014 Redwood CityAlma Louise Cocconi passed away at her home surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 11, 2014. She was 97.Her husband of over 50 years, Peter Cocconi, preceded her in death in 1989. Alma is survived by her loving son, Peter, daughter in law, Patricia and daughter, Jacqueline Glover. She is also survived by her 6 beloved grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, their spouses and 17 great-grandchildren.Born in Vancouver, Canada to Ray and Anna Angus she was the third child of 5 children. She moved with her family as a young girl to Burlingame, CA. Alma worked over thirty years in food service for the San Mateo Elementary School District and for the College of San Mateo.For the past 24 years, Alma lived with her son and daughter in law. In recent years she enjoyed being surrounded by her great- grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Little Grandma.” She always looked forward to taking her daily walks in the neighborhood, eating good food (Harry’s Hofbrau!) and watching sporting events on TV, especially the Giants and Forty Niners.Our heartfelt thanks to Maria, Alma’s caregiver and “friend for life.” Grandma loved spending time with her, playing Bingo, going out to lunch and having her hair and nails done. “Marie”, as Grandma called her, brought such love to her life.Little Grandma you will be greatly missed. We love you!Services will be held on Wednesday, June 18 at 1:00pm in the Crystal Springs Chapel at Skylawn Cemetery.
