Allyn A. Brenner, Sr.'s Obituary
Lt. Col. Allyn A. Brenner, Sr (Ret.)Born on March 4,1915 Allyn Brenner, Sr. passed away on November 27, 2008 after a short illness. Mr. Brenner served his country with pride in WWII (Pacific Theater) in Army Infantry Intelligence. He married his sweetheart, Jeannette, after the war in 1948, and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary the day before Mr. Brenner became ill.After leaving active duty, Mr. Brenner went into sales, covering many states in the Midwest before moved to Palo Alto in 1952. Other careers in his lifetime included working with the Alameda School District in mid 70's before eventually finding his way to a wonderful group of people at the start up company called Sonitrol Security. He worked there for the next 24 years retiring at the age of 84, in 1999. Two of his sons became firefighters and the third became a deputy sheriff. He supported their endeavors by volunteering with Fire Associates of Santa Clara Valley. This organization provides support in the form of food and water for the first responders at major incidents, day or night. Sonitrol volunteered to become the dispatch agency for the Fire Associates, 24/7, as a public service. Mr. Brenner was also a member of American Legion Post 375. Mr. Brenner is survived by his wife, Jeannette, and his three sons: Allyn Jr. (Brenda), Paul (Diane), and Richard (Linda). He delighted in the company of his 8 grandchildren; David, Alaina, Alex, Joshua, Matthew, Sara, Coleman and Logan.Services will be held December 5, at 1300 hrs at Skylawn Memorial Park located at Skyline Blvd & Hwy 92. Remembrances in Mr. Brenner's name may be made to American Red Cross or to FASCV “New Rig Fund” (Fire Associates) 455 S. Mathilda Ave, Sunnyvale 94086 would be greatly appreciated.
