Alice Totor's Obituary
Alice Yoshiko Totor, 89, of South San Francisco, CA, died in her residence on April 12, 2017 at approximately 5:30am. She passed away peacefully in her sleep.She was born on August 5, 1927 to Kama and Maka Nishihara. After graduating from Kaimuki High School in Honolulu, Hawaii, on June 14, 1945, Alice was employed at Kuakini Hospital as a cafeteria server.During the Korean War, she enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at Pearl Harbor on February 8, 1952. On April 12, 1954, she received the rank of Sergeant. While in the Marines, she worked in the procurement department processing orders to send supplies to the troops overseas. Alice was honorably discharged on February 11, 1956. On July 9, 1957, she was married to Senon “Sam” Totor.After being a housewife and stay-at-home mom for 20 years, Alice went back to school to update her office skills and soon found employment in the Pacific Regional Office of F. W. Woolworth Company located in Burlingame, CA. She worked for Woolworth until she retired in 1992.Alice is survived by children Alihandra Totor and Samuel Totor and by grandchildren Xavier Totor, Noah Totor, and Destiny Totor.Services will be held on April 30, 2017 at 1:00pm at Skylawn Memorial Park, San Mateo, CA.
