Alice Marie Massie's Obituary
Born in Alameda, CA, but lived most her life in San Francisco. Alice skipped a grade in High School graduating at 15 1/2 and went to work for Schwabacher-Frey Printing where she later met her husband Walter (married 46 yrs.) She also managed the accounting department for Ames Tape and Tools, retiring at 70. A parishioner of St. Gregory’s since 1949 she was always deeply committed to volunteering and in most recent years, along with others, counted the donations weekly until age 95. An avid walker all of her life she even participated in The San Francisco Bay to Breakers at age 70. She enjoyed Lake Tahoe visiting often with her family. As a young women Alice belonged to the Native Daughters of the Golden West, a fraternal and patriotic organization founded on the principles of Love of Home, Devotion to the Flag, Veneration of the Pioneers and Faith in the Existence of God. These were her beliefs until her end. Preceded in death by Walter, and brothers Charles and Frank Drolla. She is survived by her children Bruce, Gail (Andie) Wyatt and Sue (Gary) Condell, and brother Nicholas (Lorraine) Dollwet. Her Grandchildren, Nicole (Gary) Lourenco and Andrew Massie Wyatt. Great Granddaughter’s Alexandria and Andrea Lourenco. She was daughter to Marguerite and Robert Drolla. A Catholic Mass will be held 8/4 at 1:30pm @ St. Gregory’s Church, in San Mateo. Internment held privately at Sky Lawn Memorial Park.
