Alice Louise Marston's Obituary
Alice Louise Marston of Burlingame, Belmont, San Carlos and Atherton CA, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2022 in Folsom, CA near her most recent residence in El Dorado Hills, CA. Alice was born in San Francisco to Olivia and Wilds E. Chambliss who were also longtime residents of Burlingame. Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John Ira Marston. As a couple they lived in and remodelled eight homes in the San Francisco Bay Area. Their final home was in Atherton.
All of Alice’s family reside in California. She is survived by her daughter Louise Valerie Marston (Bruce Bolin) of Sacramento, her daughter Denise Ann Morey (Richard) of Atascadero, and her son Eric Charles Marston (Laura Luce), of San Jose. She is also survived by her grandchildren: David I. Morey (Megan) of Redwood City, Andrew C. Morey (Bianca) of San Luis Obispo, Zackery C. Bolin of Sacramento, Benjamin C. Morey of San Francisco, Erin L. Tabailloux (Marc) of Atascadero, and Summer M. Marston of San Jose. Alice leaves behind five great-grandchildren: Ryan, Shepherd, Maeve, Joel, and Eleanor ages 1 month to 4 years old.
Alice was a lover of beauty and was known for her skills in interior design, hosting gala events, and creating paintings in oil. She was captivated by the beauty of nature. Alice had a beautiful singing voice which she used in choirs and as a soloist. She was one of the two surviving Miss Callifornia Pagent runner-ups from the 1950 contest. She loved and was loved by her family. Being near them was her great joy.
Alice and John lived a full life filled with love alongside one another. They shared many passions, chief among them sailing, traveling, and renovating homes. They dedicated much of their lives to these projects, using them to bring together friends and family for gatherings and celebrations throughout the years.
Alice will be laid to rest at Skylawn Funeral Home in San Mateo, CA. A service will be held at Skylawn Cemetery on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 12 noon.
