Ali M. Ghodsi's Obituary
Ali Mohammad Ghodsi, 93, passed peacefully on March 8, 2017 surrounded by his children in San Mateo, California.Ali was born on March 10, 1924 in Bourojard, Iran, the first-born son of the late Gholamhoussain and Nourolain Ghodsi. He survived by his wife of seventy-one years, Aghdas, and their four children, Mina, Jilla, Vida and Farhad, as well as his son-in-law Hadi and his two grandchildren Cyrus and Saba. He was a proud family man, a brother to eleven other siblings and the elder of the Ghodsi family. His family was a source of strength and joy in his life. Ali was kindhearted, compassionate, forgiving and happiest when surrounded by family and friends.Ali was a chemical engineer and held high-level positions in Iran’s oil industry. He retired after a thirty-year career in Iran’s National Oil Company. He was well-respected around his peers and loved by his closest friends.Ali loved to travel and be outdoors, from walking for hours and many miles, to hiking, mountain climbing, horseback riding, swimming or just sitting in San Mateo’s Central Park. He loved the park, was a social butterfly and enjoyed getting to know others.Ali M. Ghodsi was put to rest on his birthday on March 10, 2017. A celebration of his life took place in his favorite restaurant where his loved ones shared their thoughts, memories, pictures and stories.He will be remembered and is truly missed.
