Jean Mclaughlin
Alfonso came to La Comida a few days each week to have lunch. He was always smiling and friendly. In no time, I learned about his weakness for all things chocolate. Every once in a while he’d give in and he’d sneak small bits of candy, cookies or cake to satisfy his craving and hopefully not disrupt his blood sugar levels. He’d pass over all other non-chocolate sweets but a mini Reese’s peanut butter cup, he’d be all over that. Everyone knew and liked him, from the cooks, volunteers, staff and other patrons. He’d come shortly before we’d close and then stay and chat with us. He was a sweet gentleman and I will miss him.
