ADELINA SORIANO TOVERA
September 2, 1934 - October 27, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Adelina Tovera, who went home to be with the Lord on October 27, 2025, at the blessed age of 91. She was a light in the lives of many - a devoted wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and dear friend.
Born on September 2, 1934, in Villasis, Pangasinan, Philippines, “Adeling” grew up surrounded by faith, love, and laughter. She carried that same warmth and grace throughout her life, touching everyone she met with kindness, wisdom, and a generous spirit.
Adeling was the beloved wife of Rev. Gervacio Tovera, Jr., her partner in life and ministry for 71 years. Together, they faithfully served communities in the mountains of the Philippine Cordilleras and later in California, devoting their lives to God’s work. She was also among the pioneering members of Full Gospel Assembly of God in San Jose, California, where her quiet strength and steadfast faith left a lasting legacy.
Her passion for gardening and her extraordinary cooking brought joy to every gathering—no one ever left her home without feeling nourished, both in body and in spirit.
Adeling is preceded in death by her son, Arvid. She is survived by her loving husband, Rev. Gervacio Tovera, Jr., her children Howard, Christy, Janice, Stephen, and James, her 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, siblings, and many dear friends. Each of them carries her love, faith, and enduring legacy in their hearts.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find peace in knowing that Adeling’s gentle spirit lives on—in the stories we share, the traditions she began, and the love she poured into all of us.
