Adelaido N. Nepomuceno's Obituary
Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Adel Nepomuceno was born in Cavite City, Philippines on December 16, 1929. He received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from National University in Manila in June 1951. He later attended the University of California at Berkeley and the United States Naval Officer’s School in Oxnard, CA.Adel was a Registered Civil Engineer in the Philippines, as well as the states of California and Nevada. He was an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Public Works Association, South Bay Transportation and Traffic Engineers, and the Peninsula Association of Contractors and Engineers.He served on the Engineering Staff at Naval Air Station Sangley Point, Naval Air Station Cubi Point, SOWESTPAC, and US Naval Forces in the Philippines. After immigrating to San Francisco with his family in December 1967, he worked as a Civil Engineer Draftsman for the Charles W. Davidson Company in San Jose. He later served as the Assistant Civil Engineer with George S. Nolte and Associates in San Francisco, City Engineer and Director of Public Works for the City of Belmont, and civil engineer for Western Division Naval Facilities Engineering Command in China Lake, until his retirement in December 16, 1991.An avid tennis player, he was a highly ranked competitor in the Northern California Tennis Association (NCTA). He won multiple singles and doubles titles in tournaments sponsored by the NCTA, the Filipino Tennis Association of Northern California and the Asian American Tennis Association.Adel is survived by his wife, Teresita, daughter Arlene and son-in-law Gilbert, sons Byron, Yves and daughter-in-law Trisha, and grandchildren Leah and Aaron.
