RIP Fred, we grew up in a fantastic little town of Freeport LI, NY where on Saturday nights in the summer we would square dance at the different parks! I was always getting in trouble while you always applied yourself to the point of reaching all those goals and so much more big brother. Summers at the beach Point Look Out, dads favorite until we got that converted row boat, you and mom to swim dad and I a little fishing. Our family trips clam digging, sometimes crab fishing.
Your friends would stop by the house want to play ball in the back and of course I would volunteer to pitch even though they were three years older, I do believe they broke my nose 3 times never did get that fixed right guess I figured it gave character to the mug!
We had some great times filling those jars with fire flies on the hot summer nights or flashlight tag.
The water pistol fights running, yelling, laughing with the neighbors the Thals (elliot, michael, harry) until we woke dad who had just got to bed after his over night shift at the airport as a flight dispatcher thought we we were dead meat if he caught us!
God keep you Rick (as I always called you growing up) Love Don (Donald only when in trouble)
We have many memories of Fred as we knew him for over 45 years. We were there when he married his lovely wife Janet - when daughters Christina was married in GG Park and when Jennifer was married in New Orleans. He was generous to us and invited Dan and I to the condo in Hawaii to the Big Island where we all went out in a boat for snorkling. He loved to travel to out of the way places and spent his life exploring ideas, religions, places no one else would go. He loved the Galapagos. He had an inquiring mind and was always interesting to talk to and was quick to laugh - we will miss Fred.
