While surrounded by those she loved, Victoria “Vicky” Rose Moore of Montara, California passed away on Tuesday October 22nd, at UCSF Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer.The youngest of 6 children, she was born on August 29th, 1961 in San Francisco, to Duncan and Gloria Burdick. She was preceded in death by her parents Gloria and Duncan as well as her brother Steve. She is survived by her husband, Bill, who she was with for a total of 42 years, daughter Janelle, son Matthew, as well as siblings Ketty, Doug, Phil, and Ray.Vicky grew up in Pacifica, California in Vallemar. Vicky was much loved by all. She was always bubbly, determined, and strong willed. She graduated from Oceana High School and married her husband Bill at 22. After living in Vallemar for 12 years they decided to move down the coast to Montara where they designed and built multiple homes and raised their two children.Family and friends were extremely important to Vicky, and her home was always open, warm, and inviting. She had a talent for listening and always made you feel like the only person in the room. Vicky loved Easter, she always made sure to plan a giant annual Easter party with her and Bill’s family and friends, complete with homemade Hawaiian style leis and a massive Easter egg hunt for all the kids. She helped pioneer the annual VLA picnic with everyone Vicky and Bill grew up with. Vicky always made sure family traditions were carried on, especially during the holidays. Over the course of 2 days she would make and wrap over 100 tamales from an old family recipe with her brother Steve and other family members. Vicky’s faith was her rock. Her faith in Jesus helped her through the toughest of times, gave her strength, provided her with solace and gave her peace.Vicky also had a passion for teaching and caring for young children. During her many years as a daycare provider and preschool teacher she brought the same love, creativity, and devotion to the classroom as she did to everything else in her life.It is with heavy hearts and much sorrow that we must continue on without her bright light, joyful demeanor and caring heart. But we take comfort in knowing that we will see her again soon and that she is free of pain, and other worldly burdens, in the arms of her Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ.
