Ting Hong Tsao Wang
August 28, 1922 - September 15, 2021
Ting Hong Tsao Wang was born in Hunan, China on August 28, 1922. She lost her mother at a young age and was raised by her grandmother. Her father was working and studying overseas most of the time and only came home every few years. She started working at an orphanage house after studying to be a nurse. She escaped to Hong Kong, from communist China, with her eldest son Andrew. While she was in Hong Kong, she had her second son Thomas. After 5 years in Hong Kong, she took a ferry to Taiwan and gave birth to her daughter Lo-Mei, followed by two more sons Ken, then Jason. My mother was a straight-forward, warm-hearted and hard working person and owned a small bakery for a living in Taiwan. She learned how to bake from the employee she hired. After arriving in San Francisco in early 1980. As she loved children, Mrs. Lee hired her to look after her children and her family grew very fond of my mother. She looked after my Dad when he became sick and he passed away in 2010. She has been a loving mother of five children, a loving grandmother of four, and a good friend to many. We will always remember her humanity, enthusiasm and her desire to learn something new.
