Here's a video of Steve singing "Ghost Busters" at a Halloween party back in '93. Video quality is horrible, but the Silky vocals are easily identifiable.
Such sad news, I can’t believe it. My condolences to his whole family and circle of friends. He was such a cool guy to be around.

When I met Steve 30+ years ago it was like he knew that he and I were gonna be the best of friends, and he was determined to make that connection. Too many amazing memories flooding my head at the moment... my heart hurts so much. My love to Rose and the rest of the family... he left us all with so many beautiful (and funny) memories (but I selfishly want more).
I just heard about Steve's "Silky Smooth" passing and I am in shock. Though I hadn't seen him in a few years, he was and always will be such a special person to me forever. One of the most genuine, funny, and loving guys I've ever known in my life.
My deepest condolences to Rose and the entire Simpkins family during these difficult times. Steve was loved by many and will be missed so dearly.

Dear Family……Our hearts are heavy but our faith remains strong. Steve was as genuine a person as there could ever be. One thing is for sure….heaven has gotten much more brighter from his smile and much more lively from his infectious energy. RIP! Love the Boldens
This is a true loss for anyone who knew Steve. I still remember him showing up to my wedding, late, but he wanted to wish me well. 6th thru 12th grade were some of the best years of my life and Steve was a part of that. The Ebony Roses and the Scarlet Raiders will live on forever (LOL) Thank you Steve for being the nicest guy in the room, always. Make sure to tell Edwin “Eddie” Javius we all said HI and we will miss both of you. Until we meet again my friend❤️
