So Bing Yip Tam
September 3, 1940 - May 21, 2020
So Bing Yip Tam peacefully passed away on May 21, 2020 at her home in San Francisco, California. She was 82 and will be buried next to her husband, Kin Kam Tam, who passed away almost 10 years ago. She is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, and three grandchildren. So Bing was the youngest daughter amongst six children, and is also survived by one older sister and many nieces and nephews. She will always be remembered as a gentle and cheerful grandma (PauPau), a loving mother, and a loyal sister, friend and relative. So Bing only completed high school herself and immigrated to the U.S.A. to ensure all of her daughters would be college-bound. Being a strict mother, So Bing instilled the value of learning and importance of a college education to her daughters. Her two eldest daughters completed Master’s degrees and her youngest daughter completed a Bachelor’s degree at college universities in California. We learned to love her ever more as she aged gracefully, and she will always be in our hearts.
