Te-Chih Weng

Death Date: May 12, 2018

Te – Chih Weng, age 92, of San Francisco, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Saturday, May 12th, 2018, at Laguna Honda Hospital in San Francisco. She was born on February 04, 1926, to Mr. Chin Yue Weng and Ms. Chi Ying, in Jiangsu Province. She was the youngest of 5 children, and a graduate of the Jiangxi College where she met Mr. Fang Yu Young. The couple was engaged and married in 1944, she remained a housewife until 1949 when the majority of the family fled from China to Taiwan in order to escape the overtaking communist regime. Once the family reestablished themselves in Taiwan, Te – Chih sought employment and was appointed the position of the Chief of the Labor Department for Taiwan. She remained in this position until retirement. Upon retirement, Te – Chih immigrated to the United States. She loved traveling around the world with her daughter Christina, enjoying games of Mah – Jong, and gathering with family and friends. She was a devout Buddhist all of her life, and enjoyed visiting temples and generously providing donations to assist those with special needs. 
Te – Chih is survived by 7 children, 5 of which contact was lost during the Chinese civil war. Of the 7 children, 2 would accompany her for the remainder of her life; Son; Richard Young of San Francisco,CA, and Daughter; Christina Chung of San Francisco, CA. She has 6 grandchildren; David Young of Corona CA, Sharena Oku of Mountain View CA, Dr. Alicia Chung Miles of Berkeley CA, Victor Chung of San Francisco CA, and Gary Young of Pecan Plantation Texas. Te – Chih is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.  
The memorial for Te – Chih Weng will be held at Skylawn Memorial Park on Monday, May 21st, 2018, at 11:00am by her daughter Christina Chung.
I fall asleep in the full and certain hope That my slumber shall not be broken; And that, though I be all-forgetting, Yet shall I not be all-forgotten, But continue that life in the thoughts and deeds of those I have loved.
